Where are the grown-ups? Navigating self-doubt in veterinary practice

Self-doubt in veterinary practice doesn’t always look dramatic.

It’s the moment you say, “I’m not an expert, but I think…” even though you know the answer.

It's the pause before sharing your opinion, just in case you’ve missed something obvious.

It's the quiet relief when things go well, rather than pride in a job well done.

Self-doubt is so much more than just "not feeling good enough". It shows up in these small, everyday moments, in hesitation, in overchecking, in turning down cases you want to take on because "someone else would do it better".

And if that's how your brain works, it's really hard to change it.

It's like having a Spotify algorithm for your thoughts; if you’ve listened to a few “I’m not good enough” thoughts, and nodded along to them, your brain starts recommending more of the same.

Soon your whole playlist is self-doubt, second-guessing, and what-ifs. Not because that’s all that exists, but because that’s what the algorithm has learned to serve you.

This CPD day focuses on resetting that algorithm, so you start to see thoughts when you ARE good enough. And with that, you start to enjoy work again.

Through practical exercises and real-life scenarios, you’ll learn how to spot self-doubt as it arises, step out of the spiral and start trusting your decisions without needing constant reassurance.

If your colleagues are always telling you that you're better than you think and you want to actually start believing them, this is for you.
