What you’ll learn

Advanced Echocardiography

Course Overview

This Advanced Echocardiography Course is designed for veterinary clinicians who already have foundational echocardiography experience and wish to develop greater technical skill, diagnostic accuracy, and confidence in complex cardiac cases.

The course combines structured online learning with a focused, hands-on practical day, ensuring you arrive well prepared and can spend your time scanning, measuring, and interpreting rather than revisiting core theory.

A blended learning approach

This course is designed as a fully integrated blended learning programme.

Completion of the Advance25 Cardiac Ultrasound online course forms the required pre-course component, ensuring all participants arrive with a shared theoretical foundation and are ready to focus entirely on advanced scanning, interpretation, and case-based application during the practical day.

Access to the Advance25 – Cardiac Ultrasound course is included as part of this programme.

The online learning remains accessible after the course, allowing you to revisit key concepts as they become relevant in practice.

If you’ve previously completed the Advance25 Cardiac Ultrasound course, please get in touch before booking. We’ll recognise your prior learning and adjust your booking accordingly.

What you’ll learn

Technical skills

  • Optimise ultrasound machine settings for high-quality cardiac imaging
  • Perform complete left- and right-sided echocardiographic examinations

  • Identify and characterise common congenital heart defects
  • Recognise key features of acquired cardiac disease including MMVD, DCM, and pericardial disease
  • Integrate echocardiographic findings into practical clinical decision-making

Case evaluation

  • Work through real-world echocardiography cases
  • Apply imaging findings to differential diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring strategies
