Includes Introduction & Intermediate & High skills
An extensive learning series containing thirteen videos with specialists Jon Wray and Nuala Summerfield covering aspects of canine and feline cardiology as outlined below:
Canine Cardiology: Key Foundations Series:
Does this coughing dog have heart disease or a respiratory problem? Is that heart big on radiographs? When should I use an NT-ProBNP? What’s the latest thinking on the management of congestive heart failure? Cardiology is, above all, a very objective and physiological subject - with a few simple ’rules of thumb’ and a sound knowledge of the ‘why’ as well as the ‘what’, clinicians can find their clinical practice skills enhanced and improved success with cardiac cases. Utilising a mixture of sounds, imaging, practical approaches and case examples, this learning series aims to equip clinicians with the fundamentals of canine cardiology practice that can be employed daily.
Feline Cardiology Series:
This series aims to give you confidence in your clinical approach and decision-making in cats with suspected cardiovascular disease. There is an in-depth discussion of how to choose the most appropriate diagnostic tests for individual cases, including tips for differentiating cardiac and non-cardiac causes of dyspnoea. Emphasis is given to acute and chronic management techniques for cats with cardiomyopathy and congenital heart disease. Diagnosis and management of co-morbidities such as feline thromboembolic disease and systemic hypertension are also covered, as well as common feline arrhythmias. Case studies are used throughout to illustrate key learning objectives.
Topics covered include:
The cardiac history and physical examination
Cardiology diagnosis: which test, when and why?
Heart failure: causes, identification, differentiating from respiratory disease
Heart failure: current management
Cardiac radiography
Echocardiography tips, trips and pitfalls
